The mission of Safe Place for Youth is to empower young people experiencing homelessness to thrive by providing lasting, community-driven solutions that address racial and social inequity. Although individual goals and pathways differ from youth to youth, our program theory for youth ‘success’ believes that change begins with the young person’s engagement with our staff and volunteers and that there are potentially multiple interim goals that a youth needs to achieve to move toward a stable situation and before housing outcomes are reached.
The strategy for achieving our mission is through a continuum of care that includes street outreach and engagement, Access Center services, case management, health and wellness and education and employment programs. At Safe Place for Youth, we are committed to not just sustaining, but increasing our ability to address the complex needs of the growing population of homeless youth in our community.
In 2019, over 1,500 unduplicated youth received life-saving support from Safe Place for Youth.
