Director of Housing
Christopher Vargas serves as the Director of Housing at Safe Place for Youth. With extensive experience as a versatile Social Work Generalist, Christopher has led impactful, community-driven initiatives throughout Los Angeles County, supporting vulnerable populations and expanding access to housing. His expertise includes policy development, systems implementation, program management, and data analysis, all grounded in a collaborative and innovative approach to reducing homelessness.
Committed to public service, Christopher emphasizes holistic thinking, transparency, and accountability in every aspect of his work. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, and an Associate of Science degree in Administration of Justice from Rio Hondo College. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his family.
