Join us in the solution to end youth homelessness
The success of our work relies heavily on community involvement. We have several volunteer programs and events year-round that serve as a great way to learn, network, and most important, provide critical resources to youth experiencing homelessness.
Safe Place for Youth's incredible volunteers are vital partners of our mission to end youth homelessness. Their dedication and commitment to upholding our therapeutic approach in serving youth are woven into every aspect of our programs. This includes preparing and serving food, front desk management, sorting donations, running the clothing closet, street outreach, data entry, teaching yoga and art projects. Learn more about our volunteer opportunities here.
Help make a difference today by supporting SPY's programs. Any donation amount will positively impact the lives of unhoused young people. Make a donation now.
Our events are a great way to meet new people, have fun and show your support for Safe Place for Youth's mission. We have three signature events annually, in addition to smaller events surrounding particular campaigns. Our annual Gala is a celebration of our work and an opportunity to honor the people who dedicate themselves to SPY, Carnival is our family-friendly event featuring carnival games, a silent auction and live entertainment, and 100 Pieces brings together Advertising Agencies throughout Los Angeles to donate art made by their staffers to raise funds for SPY programs. Check out our upcoming events here.
SPY's Next Generation (NextGen) Board brings young professionals together to raise awareness and funds for our life-saving youth services. With guidance from SPY's Development Team, NextGen subcommittees facilitate fun events and happy hours to raise funds for SPY, generate new partnerships and resources, recruit volunteers and donors, and spearhead local advocacy opportunities in line with SPY's mission. Members of NextGen meet virtually on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm. Interested in applying? Email SPY's Development Manager, Andrea Murray, at [email protected] to learn more!
- Interested in learning more? Come to the NextGen Info session on September 23rd. There are two info sessions being hosted (1) at Noon PT virtually, and (2) at 6pm PT, in person at SPY's Access Center. RSVP for either session here.
The Venice Youth Network (VYN) is a virtual community meeting that creates opportunities for education, collaboration, and connection in order to achieve support, health and wellness for young adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness and trauma. All are welcome! There's no requirement for joining the VYN other than wanting to help youth. Participants include key partners, young people, community members, business owners, volunteers, and faith-based organizations and more. Sign up for the next VYN meeting.
As a community, we must continue to develop and empower our young people to sit at the table with us in the fight against youth homelessness.

Every donation and volunteer hour gets us that much closer to helping our youth members not only survive, but thrive. An easy way to expand your impact and double your contribution is through employee giving programs! If you volunteer with us, your employer may also provide us with a grant as a way to recognize your ongoing support.
