Susette Abbas

Clinical Programs Manager

Susette is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with many years of experience working with children, youth, and their families. Her approach to therapy is strengths-based, trauma-informed and collaborative utilizing an eclectic mix of modalities to meet the needs of each individual. She believes that a key component of successful therapy is developing a collaborative, compassionate, and authentic relationship with the members she works with.  Her areas of interest include trauma and abuse, domestic violence, depression, anxiety and anger. She has held several roles during her career including school counselor, social worker/advocate for foster youth, and licensed clinician working with victims of crime. These varied experiences have given her a broad view of the challenges and issues facing youth and their families and have afforded her the opportunity to develop and expand as a professional.   She earned her BA in Psychology from Cal State University Long Beach in 2004 and went on to obtain an MA in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University. Having left her native Cuba at a young age, she grew up in the Westside of Los Angeles and is happy to return to Venice as a member of SPY’s wonderful staff.
