Healing Arts
“When you paint or draw it takes a lot of focus, and in between that focus you’re able to understand your emotions more. It’s very therapeutic.” - Me Amor, SPY Youth
The Healing Arts Program provides a nurturing environment for creative expression and exploration, allowing our youth to reconnect with their identity, build self-esteem and self-management, develop emotional awareness, work through and heal from trauma, and strengthen decision-making skills.
Our program includes open art studio hours, yoga and mindfulness, skills-based workshops, and experiential learning opportunities such as museum visits and public art showcases. Volunteer facilitators from the community lead workshops in mediums such as painting, music, photography, sewing, acting, and creative writing.

Social Enterprise
“One of the things that I really love about the healing art space is how decorative it is. It's full of people that really come in and express themselves through their art.” - Kevin, SPY Youth
As part of SPY’s Social Enterprise Program, youth artists can sell their work through the Color of Hope Collective, in which 70% of art sales go directly to the artist and 30% returns to the Healing Arts Program.
