Substance Use Programs
Substance use disorders affect approximately 20-35% of all people experiencing homelessness. Among unhoused youth, 15% are living with substance use disorders.
To address the critical intersection of substance use disorders and homelessness, Safe Place for Youth’s clinical staff and external partners offer individual counseling, psychiatry, substance recovery programming, and crisis intervention support.
SPY partners with Venice Family Clinic (VFC) to provide on-site psychiatric care and substance use treatment for high risk Transition-Aged Youth. Additionally, SPY collaborates with Vic James Center, offering youth-focused programming centered on fitness, peer mentorship, and substance use disorder prevention and recovery.
