What Happens 48 Hours After Intake? 💭
Have you ever wondered what it takes for a young person experiencing homelessness to find their way to stable housing? For every youth who walks through our doors, it starts with the same first step: intake.
Every youth who has walked through our doors and opted into services has completed an intake with us. The intake process is a critical step for our youth’s journey to housing stability.
“During the intake process, we provide an interest form, and that gives us an indication of what they’re looking for and what they need help with”, says Stacey, Case Manager and Intake Coordinator.
When our case managers and intake coordinators are working through the intake with our members, they’re actively listening to their history to see where we can provide necessary support.
“I like to hear their story to understand how to support them. As I'm listening, my mind is running with ideas for program connection.”
A Pathway Home 🏠 June
8 SPY youth exited to permanent housing in June!
Bra’nya’s journey toward stability was long. When she began receiving services from SPY she was navigating significant personal challenges. Throughout this difficult chapter, she remained engaged with her case manager who provided steady encouragement, motivation, and practical next steps.
Her persistence paid off! She secured a steady job and saved enough to purchase a car. Bra’nya and her case manager began a housing search, prioritizing proximity to her mother and uncle, her core support system.
Today, Bra’nya and her son are housed near her family support system, employed, and thriving. Welcome home!
