5 SPY youth exited to permanent housing in June!
Maintaining steady employment in pursuit of long-term stability was Nathan’s main priority from the start.
While living at Roots to Grow, one of SPY’s transitional housing sites, Nathan initially found it difficult to imagine leaving the supportive staff and welcoming community he had come to rely on. However, through ongoing support and steady guidance, he began to see that his hard work could lead to independent living, ultimately empowering him to envision a home of his own.
Today, thanks to his perseverance, Nathan has achieved that dream and now has a quiet space where he can unwind after a long workday.

Building Hope at Home 💙
Will you help us break the cycle of homelessness?
A bed in a safe home can break the cycle of homelessness before it follows a young person into adulthood. With 50% of chronically homeless adults first experiencing homelessness as transitional-aged youth, safe housing provides critical stability during this pivotal time.
To alleviate youth encampments in MacArthur Park, this year we're opening a new site in Pico-Union. This home will provide 49 additional beds for young people beyond the westside of Los Angeles. Your gift this season helps us provide that early intervention, allowing youth to shift their path toward lasting independence.
The need for safe housing is a growing, ever-present need. Every dollar today helps give a young person hope at home when it matters most.
Tabling at the Hollywood Bowl 🎶
Members of the SPY team recently had the privilege of tabling at the Hollywood Bowl during the Lucy Dacus concert! Beyond raising awareness, Lucy gave SPY an incredible shoutout in front of thousands of fans, auctioned off a signed setlist, and committed a portion of the proceeds to directly support Safe Place for Youth. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to connect with and inform the broader Los Angeles community about our mission.
Our appreciation also goes to our partners at The Ally Coalition for making this connection possible. The Ally Coalition continues to do remarkable work empowering LGBTQ+ youth, and we are proud to collaborate with them once again in serving the local community.
