This month marks Safe Place for Youth’s 10 year anniversary. As we reflect upon how we began and how far we have come, we are filled with gratitude for our community. When SPY first started there were no housing resources for young people on the Westside. Today, we house 100 youth every night across five sites in West LA.  In 2011, SPY was a small group of volunteers handing out socks on the Venice Boardwalk. In 2021, we helped 1,000 young people by providing housing, employment support, counseling, mentorship, healing arts, and meals. But there are still 4,700 unhoused youth in LA who need our help.

As we set off to achieve the goals in our new three-year strategic plan, we hope you will continue with us on the road ahead. With your support, we can ensure that each young person experiencing homelessness in our community has a pathway home.
